Wakefield have signed the Warrington loose forward Simon Grix on loan for the Super 8s campaign.
The Wildcats finished bottom of the Super League table in the regular season and must now battle it out in the Qualifiers with the rest of the bottom four as well as the leading four sides from the Championship to retain a place in the division.
Grix has yet to play this season as he continues a comeback from a spiral fracture to a leg. The injury, suffered against St Helens in 2014, was described by the player at the time as “a scratch”.
Statements on his parent and loan club’s websites say the player will remain under Warrington’s supervision during his spell in West Yorkshire: “Warrington Wolves’ medical team will still be influential in Simon’s ongoing recovery.”
