Coronation Street ’s Simon Gregson said his wife prefers his ‘fuller, chunky figure’ despite him losing weight on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
The soap icon finished as runner up in the live final of the hit ITV show on Sunday, with Emmerdale ’s Danny Miller taking the coveted title of King of the Castle.
During an appearance on This Morning on Monday, Simon told hosts Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay that he had managed to impress his wife Emma Gleave, who he married in 2010, by shedding the pounds in camp.
“With the isolation, I've not seen the kids and Emma for a month. I was allowed my phone back, it's like being a prisoner,” he quipped.
“I got my phone and was allowed to FaceTime her. She went, have you lost weight and I was like check me out and she was like ‘Ooh’,” Simon added.

But even though he’s lost a few pounds, the actor said he’s still maintained his ‘chunky’ figure which is what his wife Emma fell in love.
“Luckily for me, she does like the fuller figure. I'm still a chunky Manchester lad which thankfully she likes,” he joked.
The Corrie star, who shares sons Alfie, 14, Harry, 12, and Henry, six, with Emma, said he was devastated to be away from his family for such a long period of time while taking part in the hit show.

And his stint on I’m A Celeb meant he was forced to miss his youngest son’s performance in school, which tipped him over the edge while in camp, prompting him to cry in secret.
“I didn't do it on camera but when I got a chance to read the letter to myself it was so upsetting,” Simon explained.
“My little boy was in a play, he only just turned six on Saturday and he's completely in control of the house. I'm frightened to death of him,” he laughed.

Simon admitted he found it easy being on a diet of rice and beans while in the castle, and said he almost looked forward to the same basic meals every day.
“I thought it was going to be harder than it was. Knowing you're always on rice and beans, it got about three or four days in and I was looking forward to eating rice and beans for breakfast,” he explained.
However, he was left stunned when faced with his final trial, a grisly eating challenge that required him to eat a cow’s vagina.
“The one thing I never thought I'd look forward to eating was a hairy vagina. Who looks forward to that? It turns out I had the largest vagina to eat,” he said, as hosts Vernon and Josie burst into fits of giggles.
