Simon Ferry insists Celtic need a fresh start as he makes best manager in world claim

p Former a data-content-type=section data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link href=https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/all-about/celtic-fc target=_blankCeltic/a youth Simon Ferry reckons even members of footballapos;s management elite couldnapos;t get a tune out of the current Hoops squad. /p p And he reckons the quot;toxicquot; cloud hanging over the club has doomed a data-content-type=section data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link href=https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/all-about/neil-lennon target=_blankNeil Lennon/a for failure despite the many changes heapos;s made to turn things around. /p p Police were called to a data-content-type=section data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link href=https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/all-about/celtic-park target=_blankCeltic Park/a on Sunday night after the clubapos;s a data-content-type=section data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link href=https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/all-about/betfred-league-cup target=_blankBetfred Cup/a exit drew a crowd of hundreds of angry supporters, before the club issued a statement condemning the protests. /p pPlayers were left quot;shakenquot; by the furious fans and Ferry believes that wonapos;t have helped results on the pitch./p pFerry told Go Radioapos;s Football Show: quot; You canapos;t say Neil Lennon hasnapos;t tried to change things. Heapos;s tried so many different formations, so many different players./p pquot; But ultimately, too many times this year theyapos;re so predictable on the ball, theyapos;re easy to play against. If youapos;re good defensively in modern-day football, thereapos;s a good chance youapos;ll get a result - Celtic arenapos;t./p pquot; When youapos;re trying different things but you get the same outcome, that is when you start to think you need fresh ideas./p pquot;Itapos;s not just the fans, itapos;s whatapos;s happening on the pitch. And that, coupled with the fansapos; reaction, itapos;s just creating a toxic situation where I donapos;t think the best manager in the world could get results from here on now./p img src=https://i2-prod.dailyrecord.co.uk/incoming/article13063135.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_JS159285655.jpg title=Simon Ferry has had a successful time fronting the Open Goal podcasts data-portal-copyright=Victoria Stewart/Daily Record/ pquot; The pressure was massive enough. I just think itapos;s going to be so difficult to go and get wins with the feeling about the club right now.quot;/p pThe abject performance was littered with basic mistakes with standout players from the recent unprecedented success like Scott Brown passing the ball straight out the park under no pressure./p pFerry believes the intensity is getting to the players the longer this goes on./p pHe doesnapos;t recognise the manager as the same up-and-coming coach that taught him at Lennoxtown and he continued: quot; The players look gone. Youapos;ve got guys passing the ball out the pitch who would never pass the ball out the pitch./p pquot;Youapos;ve got guys crossing the ball out the pitch when theyapos;ve got no pressure on them. I just think the manager looks gone./p pquot; He doesnapos;t look the same guy to me. Second goal goes in, thatapos;s not a Neil Lennon reaction for me. The players didnapos;t look the same and the fans, theyapos;ve obviously had enough./p pquot;I donapos;t like people getting sacked, but I think itapos;s got to the stage where a change is needed.quot;/p
