Simon Ferry in shock Neil Lennon Celtic training claim as pundit begs him to 'do it his own way'

Worried Simon Ferry has urged Neil Lennon to rediscover himself and banish any remnants of the Brendan Rodgers era if Celtic are to turn their season around.

The Premiership champions trail rivals Rangers by 11 points and the pressure is mounting after Saturday's 2-2 draw with Hibs.

And the Open Goal host has claimed the Premiership champions' training sessions are still based on the meticulous style that was implemented by Rodgers upon his arrival.

Lennon stayed true to the Leicester manager's blueprint when he returned and current Celtic assistant manager John Kennedy was a key member of the the 47-year-old's backroom team.

But Ferry has pleaded with Lennon to rediscover himself if he is to turn things around with Ten In A Row in serious danger.

Speaking to Go Radio, Ferry said: "He went back to his old ways but it seems to me again it's back to the Brendan Rodgers style.

"I know they still do Brendan Rodgers training, which worries me.

"If you're the manager you can't be doing someone else's thing you need to do what you want to do.

"If he's going to go out, he needs to do it in his own way.

"Whether he's doing that or not with the people that are behind him I don't know."

Lennon was left searching for answers once again after his side's slapstick defending during the stalemate at Easter Road.

He namechecked Scott Brown but the likes of Nir Bitton and Jeremie Frimpong also came in for flak from pundits over their lax approach.

And Ferry has called upon Lennon to rediscover the motivator within or he expects some serious questions from the boardroom.

The Peterhead midfielder added: "The one worry I would have with Neil Lennon was his interview after the game where he said players are lacking in motivation.

"Having known Neil Lennon that's the kind of manager he is.

"He is a man-manager, he is a motivator, if he's struggling to do that then questions will be asked by the board.

"Because he will tell you himself he's not a manager who goes on the training ground and coaches.

"He's a guy who can get players up, speak to anyone, I've played under him, he's a guy who can get you up for games.

"And if he is struggling to do that then the board will be asking questions."
