Simon Cowell wears socks with trainers as he returns to work on America's Got Talent

Simon Cowell showed off his unique sense of style as he donned a pair of hitched up socks with trainers and shorts as he got back to work on America's Got Talent this weekend.

The music mogul, 61, was pictured strolling in the sunshine on Sunday, wearing one of his trademark black tops with a matching pair of sneakers and white shorts.

Simon was back at work on America's Got Talent and he gave a big thumbs up to show all is well.

The X Factor mogul is back at work filming the hit talent show after bouncing back from a frightening bike accident last year.

The new series of the show is due to air in the States this summer.

He was previously unable to fly back to Britain to film Britain's Got Talent after falling off an electric back and seriously injuring his back.

Diversity star Ashley Banjo stood in for Simon, taking his place on the judging panel with the TV mogul recuperated at home in California.

Simon has made an amazing recovery since undergoing six hours of emergency surgery and had a rod inserted into his back.

Speaking after the accident, Simon admitted he feared he'd never walk again after the crash.

In an interview on Extra TV with ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour, the star recalled: "It could have been a lot worse. When I saw the X-ray, I really nearly could have smashed my spine to pieces, so I literally wouldn't have been able to walk.

"I knew I'd broken my back the minute I landed. It was really, really kind of sudden and it hurt."

Simon added he'd relied on the support of his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their son Eric, seven, admitting he "couldn't have got through it" without them.

It's not yet known when Simon will return to British TV screens as the next series of Britain's Got Talent has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

It's hoped the show will return in 2022.
