Simon Cowell turns to Cheryl with 'long phone calls' after his shock career move

Simon Cowell is said to have turned to Cheryl for advice after making a shock career move.

The two definitely have history with Cheryl working alongside Simon on The X Factor from 2008-2010, before he promised to make her a big star in America on the US version, only for that to go horribly wrong after she was axed during the audition stages, before the show even went to air.

The Geordie star was left fuming at Simon's cutthroat way of dropping her from the show but the pair made amends when Cheryl returned for a two year stint on The X Factor in the UK in 2014 and 2015, before going back to the show again for Simon's Judges Houses auditions in 2017.

While not many people are aware, it was also Simon's production company who were behind The Greatest Dancer, the BBC talent show she was on for two years before it was axed earlier this year.

And now, after he is said to have cut ties with his record label after 18 years, the pair have said to embroiled in long phone calls plotting what to do net.

A source told Closer magazine : "Following his split from Sony, he immediately turned to Cheryl and asked for her advice and guidance.

"They’ve always had a love/hate relationship, but at the core is a very deep friendship. During lockdown, they’ve both had more time and space to talk and come up with ideas.

Simon is said to have asked the former Girls Aloud member's opinion on his next TV shows, with Netflix in his sights, and what she thinks will draw viewers in.

The source added: "He’s always said Cheryl has the magic touch and really values her outlook. She’s also happy to help him out after everything he has done for her personally and professionally.”
