Simon Cowell has struck a deal to remain as a judge on America’s Got Talent until at least 2019, weeks after signing a three-year contract to keep Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor on ITV.

Cowell, who gave the NBC show a five-year ratings high when he joined as a judge for the first time this summer, has agreed to continue for three more seasons.

He will appear alongside Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel when the 12th season of the talent franchise launches next summer.

“I’ve loved this past season and and look forward to discovering more great talent together in the years to come,” said Cowell. “America’s Got Talent is a fantastic and, most importantly, fun show both to work on and to watch.”

Syco, the co-producer of America’s Got Talent, said that the season average for the most recent series of the show was 13.5 million viewers, its best performance since 2011.

The final of the most recent series of Britain’s Got Talent, which is fronted by Ant & Dec, attracted almost 10.5 million viewers, with the highest-rated episode of the series passing 12 million.

Cowell ended his stint as a judge on American Idol in 2010, moving to The X Factor USA for three seasons until it was cancelled by Fox in 2013.
