Simon Cowell in Britain's Got Talent wildcard row hours before final

Simon Cowell found himself at the centre of a wildcard row with just hours to go until this year’s Britain’s Got Talent final.

As has become tradition on the ITV show, the two acts who made it through each of the week’s semi finals have now been joined by another act - the judges’ wildcard. The choice for the extra spot was revealed to fans on Saturday night, with the lucky contestant being Amber and the Dancing Collies.

Earlier in the week, Simon came under fire from viewers after Amber and her skilled dogs didn’t make it through their heat, after finding themselves in the top three.

Many Britain’s Got Talent fans argued that they should have got through, but now some critics are condemning the judges, particularly Simon for choosing Amber and the Collies as the wildcard for 2022. The catalyst for the majority of negativity is that Simon first mentioned the prospect of wildcard on Wednesday’s show after he was left puzzled and upset that young singer Immi Davis didn’t even make top three, while also finding it hard to send Ant and Dec’s golden buzzer act, Keiichi home.

Reacting to the wildcard news and it not being Immi or Keiichi, one disappointed viewer took to Twitter to post:” Should of been immi this dog act was s**t compared to her 1st audition. Even Simon said immi may be a wildcard, the audience wasn't happy she didn't go through, should at least take public thoughts reactions into account.”

A second tweeted: Simon Cowell practically promised a wild card to Immi after it was announced she was going home - obviously Immi is too much of a threat to the act the judges are monopolising to win it .. fix @immidavis should be in that final i dont care to watch now tbh.”

Another fumed: “ So Simon said ALL week he'd choose Immi as a wildcard and then this happens... absolute bull. This show is absolute rubbish now. If Loren or Axel wins, I won't be watching it again”Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell felt the wrath of viewers over the wildcard choice for this year's final."
