Simon Cowell funded op for Britain's Got Talent teen so she could dance again - and it got very emotional

Two years ago Julia Carlisle thought she would never walk again - but on tonight's Britain's Got Talent she said an emotional thank you to Simon Cowell for changing her life.

Seventeen-year-old Julia, a member of the dance troupe MerseyGirls, made it to the 2017 final of BGT after revealing that she had curvature of the spine.

"After surgery I won't be able to dance so this is my last chance," she told the judges at the time.

After hearing her story, Simon arranged for her to have surgery in America 'so she could dance forever.'

Julia, who had to learn to walk again, performed a 'thank you' dance for Simon to show how far she's come after the surgery, saying: "I'm excited for Simon to see what he's done for me."

Not only did plucky Julia dance, she back-flipped across the stage to the amazement of Simon and his fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams.

David said afterwards: "This is really emotional and that performance was absolutely brilliant as well. We're all absolutely in bits."

"When you did the back flip across the stage it made my heart soar," said Alesha.

"Simon you're incredible, I love you for what you've done for her."

Amanda praised: "You're a walking miracle. I think it's one of the most emotional performances we've had on the show."

And Simon said: "The fact you were able to come back tonight, is everything."

"It's crazy. I couldn't walk two years ago and now I'm here," Julia told hosts Ant and Dec.

The overwhelmed teen then approached Simon on the panel, gave the music and talent show boss a hug and told him: "There's nothing I can say, just thank you."

"Likewise," he told her.
