Simon Cowell blasted by BGT viewers for savage attack on Japanese dance act

Britain's Got Talent viewers have hit out at Simon Cowell for his savage comments following a dance act's performance.

All-female dance troupe Fabulous Sisters had come all the way from Japan to perform in the semi-final but failed to impress Simon.

He said after they'd finished their routine that he didn't enjoy it before asking who had picked the music.

There was an awkward pause as Ant and Dec turned to the girls who all looked around at each other, before one girl held her hand up.

Simon chuckled and said in the brutal take down as he was booed by the audience: "Oh. I wouldn't hold your hand up."

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to call out Simon for the negative feedback: "The Japanese girl has more goodness in her little finger than @ SimonCowell has in his entire body.

"What kind of character tries to ridicule a young girl on national TV. Nasty piece of work," fumed one.

"@SimonCowell that was a mean thing to do #BGT," added another.

"Unnecessary comment Mr Cowell! Hope that girl isn't vulnerable. Just wrong and no need to single her out," a third said.

One person said: "There's being honest and then there's being rude, which I think he's coming across as."

Another asked: "Does @ SimonCowell have to be so rude to contestants? That dance group didn’t deserve that. Getting a bit fed up with # BGT people need positivity and support not nastiness this world has too much of that at the moment."

Others supported Simon for his honesty as he remarked: "I have to be honest girls, I didn't enjoy that very much.

"The music was really confusing, I didn't understand who you were from that performance compared to the first time."

Simon went on to say: "Look maybe I'm wrong but you didn't make some right choices tonight, I really don't sorry."
