Simeon Jackson seals Kilmarnock switch former as ex-St Mirren man pens short-term deal

Kilmarnock have officially confirmed the signing of Simeon Jackson on a deal until January.

The 32-year-old striker spent last season at St Mirren , scoring six times in 30 Premiership games as Oran Kearney's side avoided relegation via the play-offs.

A Canadian international, he has been training with Angelo Alessio 's squad in recent weeks in an effort to win a deal.

Today Killie confirmed that he's joined on a short-term contract: " Kilmarnock Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Canadian striker Simeon Jackson on a deal until January.

"The 32-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Angelo Alessio’s attacking options, having enjoyed a long career in England, Germany and Scotland with clubs such as Gillingham, Norwich City, St. Mirren and Eintracht Braunschweig.

"No stranger to Scottish football, Simeon scored six goals in 30 appearances last season as he helped the Buddies secure their Scottish Premiership status.

"He will be available for selection for Saturday’s home match against Livingston ."

The move comes after loanee Osman Sow was ruled out for six weeks.

Killie have been defensively solid under Alessio, conceding just seven goals in eight games, but have also struggled to find the back of the net.

The Ayrshire club have scored only six Premiership goals so far this season.
