KOCHI: The high court has completed hearing the state government's appeal challenging the second stay issued by a single bench on SilverLine survey. A second stay was issued on February 7 after considering petitions filed by landowners challenging the survey.
A division bench had on February 14 set aside the single bench's order granting the first stay. Hearing the appeal against the second stay, the division bench hinted that it might interfere with the second order of the single bench too.
Government has contended that the single bench should not have stayed the survey being conducted as part of efforts to offer more connectivity between the northern and southern parts of the state. It has also contended that the second stay was issued even after being told that the division bench had completed hearing its appeal against the first stay order and has reserved the case for pronouncing judgment. tnn
