Silverfin by Charlie Higson – review

Charles Higson, Silverfin: A James Bond Adventure (Young Bond)

This is the first book in a series all about the young James Bond. There are five books in the series and a new one is coming out in a new series but it is written by someone else.

Silverfin is a brilliant and dramatic adventure for young readers who don't mind a bit of gore, and aren't afraid of eels. The story starts with James Bond's school life in Eton, where he makes friends and enemies. His Aunty tells him he is going to go to Scotland in the school holidays and he meets a boy called Red Kelly who is a thief and pickpocket who is looking for his missing cousin. James decides to help him and ventures up the hill to Loch Silverfin. But all they find is mystery and trouble.

This is a great read and I would highly recommend it for 10+. I can't wait to read the next book, Blood Fever, which sounds even more gory.
