Silverburn Shopping Centre reopened following late night police incident

Roads in and around Silverburn Shopping Centre were closed off last night as police rushed to the scene.

An eyewitness reported seeing officers in riot gear at around 10pm and more residents took to Twitter to ask what was going on.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed that a man was stopped in his car at a petrol station and that there was no threat of danger to the public.

They added : "Enquiries are now complete after a car was stopped during a police operation at a petrol station at Silverburn Shopping Centre. Roads in and around the centre have been re-opened.

"No arrests were made."
