Silverburn bus station 'chemical spill' as multiple emergency services respond

An emergency response has been prompted to a Scots bus station following reports of a chemical spill.

Police and fire crews are currently in attendance at Silverburn Bus Station in Glasgow.

Two fire engines have been drafted in to deal with the ongoing incident, which does not pose a risk to the wider public.

It is currently known if there are any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 1.25pm on Thursday, April 7, officers received a report of a chemical spill at an address on Cowglen Road, Glasgow.

"Emergency services are on scene and there is no wider risk to the public."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson added: "We were alerted to an incident on Cowglen Road, Glasgow at 1.25pm today.

"SFRS deployed two fire engines to the scene where firefighters are currently assisting police."
