Signing off for the weekend - and the return of the Facebook ferrets

Well, we've come to the end of another week on the blog. Leave your comments about what you thought of it this week. Is there something we should be covering? What would you like to see more/less of?

As usual, there's tons going on across the city this weekend. Author Mike Thomas will be signing his book in Waterstones tomorrow (read more here), there's a book sale in Canton, and photgrapher Jocelyn Bain Hogg's new exhibition, Muse, opens tomorrow at Bute Street's Third Floor Gallery.

Watch out for campaigning politicians, too. Julie Morgan, the MP for Cardiff North, will be launching the Labour campaign tomorrow along with her Cardiff West counterpart Kevin Brennan. Meanwhile, the Welsh Conservative Assembly leader Nick Bourne will join the Atlantic Wharf Residents Association on Sunday morning for a litter pick.

But for now I'll leave you with the return of the Facebook ferrets. Has anyone seen Mista?

Mista is one of eight circus-trained ferrets belonging to Gordon Tyler, a 36-year-old jester from Riverside otherwise known as Fiery Jack. The animals, who are part of Tyler's act, went missing from his home last month. Miraculously, six of the eight ferrets have since returned in one way or another.

However, both Mista - who has a 458-strong Facebook fanbase and is the star of Tyler's travelling show - and his furry friend Freddy are still missing. See our photos of the ferrets here.

Tyler is now hoping to turn his home into a refuge for ferrets found by the RSPCA. He recently took on a new protege, a rescued ferret named ALF - after the late-80s American sitcom of the same name - because he really does look like an alien. Tyler says he is looking forward to the new addition to the ferret family taking part in his August show.
