Signing off for the weekend - after day of musings at Leeds City Centre Vision Conference

I'm signing off for the weekend now.

I spent much of the day at the intriguing Leeds City Centre Vision Conference. Lots of really good ideas and discussions based around diversity, collaboration and partnership between public and private sector and voluntary organisations.

I can't do justice to all the different elements on this blog today but will report in-depth on Monday. In the meantime, if you attended today's conference please do post your comment into the section below and give your interpretation/opinions on the day's events. I'll work your responses into my Monday coverage.

Meanwhile, today sees the launch of the Leeds Loves Shopping festival. The event celebrates Leeds' high street, vintage and independent stores. Running until 24 October, events include trend workshops, makeovers, fashionable food menus, VIP evenings and fashion shows.

And for something completely different, The Royal Park Community Consortium has received permission to host a community clean up and fun day on the abandoned Hyde Park-based school grounds tomorrow. Local people, families, students and campaigners will be removing rubbish and weeds.

Local campaigner Sue Buckle said:

"We're going to show the council that the community cares about the Royal Park School building."

The Community Clear Up Fun Day will be held tomorrow from 11am to 4.30pm and a further clear-up day will be held on Sunday.

Let us know of any events you're attending/holding this weekend by posting into the comments section below. Remember, this is your blog!

Have a good 'un.
