Shocking photos show rubbish dumped at Sainsbury's supermarket recycling centre in Arnold

A large amount of rubbish has been dumped at a supermarket recycling centre in Arnold.

Sainsbury's in Sir John Robinson way has an area at the back of a large car park where people can recycle their rubbish, including plastics, metals and clothing plus more.

But there has been a significant amount of rubbish that has been dumped there by people which has left the site overflowing.

It appears as if people with excess waste from Christmas have attended the site and dumped their rubbish, even though there is no more capacity for it to hold any more.

It has outraged some social media users.

On Facebook, Allan Phillips posted: "Nottingham residents, be ashamed! Be very ashamed!"

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: "The recycling service at our Arnold store has been in high demand.

"We've arranged for an additional collection and the area around the bins is being cleared.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused."
