BHOPAL: Running both online and offline classes is giving a tough time to teachers of classes 9 and above. Now, with the nod to open regular classes for class 6 and above, the pressure on teachers will shoot up, leading many of them ti suggest that one of the modes should be shut.
The dilemma has left students and parents perplexed.
The reopening guidelines issued by the government on Friday say online classes will continue on the days there’s no physical school. Teachers however, said that it is not practically possible and will only add to the chaos.
“Switching between actual classes and online classes will be possible only when the presence of students in both online and offline classes are the same. However, I have doubts about the offline classes running full swing,” said Visha Bharti, a teacher.
Teachers said that if physical classes are to be restarted on a urgent basis, online classes should be stopped immediately. “Why are we making studies a joke? Teachers will have to face tremendous pressure managing both modes of teaching. Till online classes are there, students won’t come for offline classes,” said teacher Rekha Sharma.
Students are caught in a bind. “My father doesn’t want me to attend offline classes. I do not think teachers will repeat online the classes they take offline. I do not know how this confusion will be addressed,” said Sarthak Verma, a class 11 student.
Confusion also prevails on exams. “Amid talk of the third wave, my parents have not given consent to send me to school. How to appear in exams if it is conducted offline? There is utter confusion,” said Parth Ganguly, a class 12 student. Many teachers say they understand if any parent doesn’t want to opt for offline school.
