A Sigerson Cup game had to end abruptly after Galway rising star Sean Mulkerrin suffered what appears to be a serious injury.
Late in the second half, NUIG were leading Ulster University when play stopped for Galway senior Mulkerrin.
And as time passed it it became apparent that Mulkerrin would not be able to help himself off the pitch as the decision was made to end the game.
NUIG were leading the contest 1-10 to 2-05 as the game reached the final few minutes and the decision was made to award victory to the college.
And speaking after the game, manager Maurice Sheridan reflected on the injury.
Speaking to Jerome Quinn, he said: "It's a very unfortunate injury for Sean Mulkerrin. He's been a great player and ambassador and he was supposed to be our captain as well but injury prevented him from taking part earlier in the year.
"He played in the Sigerson final in 2018. Our thoughts are with Sean at this stage and it's not about the game."
