Sienna Miller and Michelle Dockery lead Netflix thriller Anatomy of a Scandal from Big Little Lies creator

Sienna Miller and Michelle Dockery will star in Netflix’s adaptation of Sarah Vaughan’s novel Anatomy Of A Scandal.

The book, which was published in the UK in 2019, follows a Westminster politician whose marriage begins to unravel after he is accused of sexual misconduct, while his wife fights to prove his innocence.

Big Little Lies creator David E Kelley is leading the adaptation of the bestseller along with former House of Cards showrunner Melissa James Gibson.

Miller will play Oxford University graduate Sophie Whitehouse, the wife and mother-of-two who finds herself at the centre of the scandal.

Downton star Dockery previous appeared in Netflix western Godless (Dave Benett)

Dockery will play Kate Woodcroft, a criminal barrister who specialises in prosecuting sex crimes.

Rupert Friend will play junior minister James Whitehouse, who is married to Sophie.

Kelley, who recently served as showrunner on HBO's upcoming drama The Undoing starring Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman, will also re-team with his Big Little Lies producer Bruna Papandrea for the series.

All six episodes of the show will be directed by S.J. Clarkson, with Deadline reporting that production will begin in London later this year.

Miller most recently starred in Showtime's mini-series The Loudest Voice as Beth Ailes, the wife of Fox boss Roger Ailes. After reprising her role as Lady Mary for the Downton Abbey movie last year, Dockery has appeared in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen as well as Apple TV's Defending Jacob.
