Sidney Jones preparing for a breakout season: ‘You haven’t seen nothing yet’

Sidney Jones appears to have his swagger back and if he can return to the guy that left Washington as one of the nation’s top cornerbacks, the NFC East could be in trouble.

Jones has struggled at times throughout his first four seasons and the talented Eagles cornerback has entered a career crossroads that will define his NFL legacy.

During a recent virtual sitdown with NBC Sports John Clark, Jones was confident in stating that we “haven’t seen anything yet.”

“There’s a whole lot left. That’s all I can tell you. You haven’t seen nothing yet,” Sidney Jones said Thursday afternoon in an interview.

“Adversity builds character,” he said. “I feel like I have weathered the storm. I am ready to show what I can do and prove it.”

Jones has suffered through injuries and being benched, while it seems that he’s lacked confidence at times as well. Recently, Eagles GM Howie Roseman, made it clear that he believes in the young cornerback, but it’s also “time for him to prove it” on the field.

There’s been a buzz surrounding Jones after it was learned that he’s currently in Texas working with noted defensive backs trainer Ronnie Braxton.

Jones should return to Philadelphia a more physical and confident cornerback, especially after working out with guys like the Chargers Chris Harris Jr.

“Just to be around guys like that and to watch him and watch his moves and see how they go about their business, I can just follow him and pick up tips,” Jones said.

Jones also stated that he is thrilled the Eagles traded for his “boy” Darius Slay and he believes the former Lions cornerback will only enhance his game at cornerback.
