Sickening child abuse horror on Corrie as Paul revealed the truth - and Billy fears for Joseph

Coronation Street vicar Billy Mayhew feared Joseph Brown was at risk from paedophile Kel when he spotted him bringing the boy home from school.

Paul Foreman has refused to admit that he was abused as a boy by his mum's boyfriend, but his friend Billy stepped in when he saw Kel with seven-year-old Joseph.

A worried Billy took Joseph, the son of Chesney Brown, to a safe place until his family came home.

Despite his denial that he was abused, Paul was also distressed to hear that Kel had picked Joseph up from school for Chesney on tonight's Corrie .

"He looked after Joseph? After him being back on the scene for a few days and you let him do that?" he shouted at his twin sister Gemma, who is expecting quads with Chesney.

Paul realised how young he really was in comparison to adult Kel (ITV)

Billy then turned on Paul asking: "So what are you going to do if he wants to babysit again?

"What about Kel? You're going to let him stick around knowing what he did? He was alone with Joseph."

But Paul protested: "I was old enough to know what was going on. You're talking about him like he's some sort of paedo."

"That's exactly what he is. If what he did to you is fine why did you react like that when you heard about Joseph?" asked Billy.

It dawned on Paul how young he was when he was preyed on by Kel (ITV)

Paul protested that although he had underage sex with Kel he gave full consent.

But when his mum Bernie Winter handed around old photos in the Rovers Return, it dawned on Paul how young he really was when he was with Kel and he ran to the bathroom to be sick.

As he knocked back vodka, Paul finally admitted the truth that he'd been blocking out.
