Sickened Piers Morgan slams Rolls-Royce CEO for 'laughing' over job cuts in BBC interview

Piers Morgan has lashed out Rolls-Royce's CEO for "laughing" while speaking about the company's job cuts during a BBC interview.

The 55-year-old GMB presenter branded CEO Warren East's behaviour while speaking to Victoria Derbyshire "absolutely appalling".

Earlier today, Rolls-Royce announced that they would be making 9,000 workers redundant among its global workforce of 52,000.

The Derby-based firm makes plane engines and warned that it would take "several years" for the airline industry to recover following the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Warren East's grinning appearance on BBC News sparked fury from Piers, who shared a clip on Twitter.

He furiously tweeted: "This is absolutely appalling - the CEO of @RollsRoyce laughing as he reveals massive job losses.

"What the f*ck do you find so funny, Mr East?"

Earlier today, Piers hit out at the government for "lying" amid their 22-day boycott of GMB.

In an explosive rant on GMB, Piers demanded: "Just tell the truth! The British public will forgive people making honest mistakes.

"They're not going to be forgiving if they believe their government has been deliberately misleading them or lying. And on testing, that's what happened.

"They claimed that something moved on a different course to everybody else because we worked out that wasn't appropriate. That's not what they're now admitting.

"Now they're admitted that we didn't have the tests. Be honest. Just say that we didn't have the tests."
