Sick scammers are attempting to cash in on a child cancer victim who is fighting for her life.
Seven-year-old Charly Bisset was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia earlier this year and is critically ill.
But her family were horrified to learn that fraudsters are asking businesses for money, claiming it’s for Charly.
A GoFundMe page was set up by a family member when Charly first fell ill, while other fundraisers were organised by a friend and a businessman.
These had the blessing of Charly’s parents Mark and Kirsty – but they have been alerted to other “fundraisers” using their daughter’s name in a sickening attempt to make money.
Mark, 41, said: “We have been made aware of males targeting businesses claiming to be helping to raise money for Charly.
“There’s no way they have been asked by us.
“We don’t want people being ripped off or to think it’s us. It’s sick and disgusting, trying to cash in on a wee girl’s misery and suffering.”
Mark says he would encourage any business owners targeted to contact police. He added: “We would like to thank everyone who has contributed and those who continue to donate.”
The worried family were recently told to “prepare to let her go” but Charly continues defy doctors.
Mark, from Peebles in the Borders, said: “She has had a rough couple of days and a constant high temperature.
“Doctors are working hard to find out what infection she may have now – but she is still here and she is still fighting.”
