The makers of Celebrations advent calendars have been labelled 'sick' and have been accused of 'ruining Christmas' by playing the cruelest of all jokes.
To make matters worse, they appear to be laughing as they watch the world burn.
The calendar is always popular, providing a tasty variety of chocolates in the countdown to Christmas, including favourites such as Mars, Snickers and Twix.
As December began yesterday, excited chocolate fans tore open door number one of their advent calendar to come face-to-face with a Bounty.
We've been here before. Last year also began with a Bounty causing uproar , meaning this time round we were mentally and emotionally prepared.
The divisive chocolate isn't the ideal start for everyone but it was only uphill from there. Right?
Except the people at Mars Inc decided to take the joke one step further by giving it's loyal customers, willing to forget last year's indiscretion, a Bounty for the second day in a row .
As furious fans took to social media to vent their disgust at the stunt, Celebrations were anything but apologetic.
They replied to angry tweets with cartoons including LOL spelled out using Bountys, a man throwing Bountys in the air with the caption 'Bountys for everyone', and two Bountys playing electric guitars alongside the message: "Name a more iconic duo. We'll wait..."
And it's fair to say that didn't really go down too well either.
One person wrote: "Just a heads up, anyone who has a Celebrations advent calendar and was disheartened that day one was a Bounty, well guess what...
"I got peckish and went to eat day two a few hours early and that’s a ****ing Bounty too, whole calendar is going in the bin. Christmas is CANCELLED."
Another said: "Days 1 & 2 of my Celebrations advent calendar were both Bountys. BOUNTYS! If that's not an accurate representation of 2019, I don’t know what is."
A third vented: "This advent calendar could not have started any worse!! Who is the troll at Celebrations starting the month with TWO BOUNTYS???"
A spokesperson for Mars said: "“We all have our favourites – Bounty might be the last chocolate left in tub for some people, but for others two advent Bounty treats in a row get their season off to a great start!
"Don’t worry, there’s something for everyone in the calendar – no peeking on what comes next!”
They wouldn't dare to do it for a third consecutive day. Surely...
