Airline and tour operator Jet2 announced flights and holidays to the Mediterranean islands of Sicily and Sardinia - but holidaymakers will have to wait until next summer.
The addition of the two stunning destinations expands the holiday firm's Italian programme to seven resorts and comes in response to strong and continued demand from UK holidaymakers.
It will fly to Sicily from five UK bases (Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and London Stansted) with flights operating into Catania Airport. This opens up a range popular resorts on the east coast of the island.
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and is a well-established destination with UK holidaymakers, offering everything from beach holidays to city breaks. With culture, cuisine, dramatic landscapes, mighty Mount Etna, and stunning beaches, Sicily has something for everyone.
The company is also putting flights and holidays on sale to Sardinia from four UK bases for Summer 22 (Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and London Stansted), with flights operating into Olbia Airport.
Sardinia offers customers the most authentic of Italian experiences and is on many people’s bucket list of must-see European beach destinations. Resorts on sale in Sardinia include Porto Cervo, Baia Sardinia, Budoni, San Teodoro, Cannigione, San Pantaleo, Orosei and Pittulongu, as well as city breaks to Olbia.
The flight programme on sale to both destinations for Summer 22 is as follows:
Sicily (via Catania Airport):
- Birmingham – weekly Wednesday services operating from May 4 to October 26.
- Bristol – weekly Tuesday services operating from May 3 to October 25.
- Leeds Bradford – weekly Wednesday services operating from May 4 to October 26.
- Manchester – up to two weekly services (Tuesday and Saturday), with flights operating from April 30 to October 29.
- London Stansted – up to two weekly services (Wednesday and Sunday), with flights operating from May 1 to October 30.
Sardinia (via Olbia Airport):
- Birmingham – weekly Sunday services operating from May 29 to October 30.
- Leeds Bradford – weekly Wednesday services operating from May 25 to October 26.
- Manchester – up to two weekly services (Wednesday and Sunday) operating from May 1 to October 30.
- London Stansted – up to two weekly services (Wednesday and Sunday) operating from May 1 to October 30.
As a result of this expansion, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays now have seven Italian destinations on sale for Summer 22 - Sicily, Sardinia, Naples, Pisa, Rome, Venice and Verona.
