Siblings lead the way with their Pebble Pathway of Hope

A brother and sister are leading the way in helping to brighten up people’s lives during lockdown.

Lewis (10) and Emily Waddell (7) have created a ‘Pebble Pathway of Hope’ near their home in Bathgate which has inspired other youngsters to get involved.

The Windyknowe Primary pupils decorated pebbles and rocks and started to leave them along a local path at their home at Inchcross Grange to brighten up their daily walk and other children have now added to it and the path is growing longer day by day.

Their mum Kirsti said: “It brings a lovely sense of community and definitely lets us feel connected to our neighbours even in lockdown.

“We had been painting pebbles and putting them in places around the streets on our daily walks, to keep us busy in Lockdown.

“We noticed that others started to do the same and they thought it would be nice if the pebbles were together in one place and it may brighten up people’s daily walks during lockdown.

“So they started the pebble pathway and soon our neighbours and local community started to add to it too.

“It’s lovely to stop and look at it on our daily walks and see the latest additions which are getting more and more creative.”
