Start-up shipping business Nevis International Global Logistics has taken offices at a strategic Grimsby location.
Launched in April, it is now a tenant at BJB House on South Humberside Industrial Estate, providing almost immediate access to Port of Grimsby, with Immingham opened up by the recent completion of a new link road too.
David Allen, who decided to go it alone after a career encompassing Humber giants DFDS, PD Ports and RMS, said: “Nearly a year in and we are firmly afloat, looking after sea, air and road consignments on a global scale.
“We are exporting and importing a multitude of commodities, such as coffee, wine, electronics, building equipment, timber, drilling and mining equipment, perishable goods and flooring, to name but a few.
“Our new office in Grimsby will allow the company the potential to grow.”
It has launched a new courier division from the Estate Road One base, allowing Nevis “to look after and be in control of the ‘first’ and ‘last mile’ for current and new customers”.
Mr Allen said: “On too many occasions third party couriers have wrongly represented what Nevis are all about. By being in control, Nevis is able to showcase its professionalism and customer care from clients' doors to their customers' doors."
A three-strong team is building up the work, with a desire to expand as it wins market share. Freight forwarding, ships agency, haulage and warehousing services were already being offered, building on a network of contacts honed over the years to launch Nevis.
