Siam Square hosts new green building

The KLOUD by KBank building aims to be a prototype green area in Siam Square.

Kasikornbank (KBank) and six partners on Wednesday jointly launched an "innovative iconic green building" named "KLOUD by KBank" at Siam Square.

The six partners comprise Chulalongkorn University, Property Management of Chulalongkorn University, PTT Global Chemical Plc, Siam Cement Group's Cement-Building Materials Business, Advanced Info Service, and Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization.

Located at Siam Square Soi 7, the KLOUD by KBank building is meant to be a prototype for a green area in Siam Square, according to KBank.

The building aims to attract the new generation to use this area for knowledge sharing, learning and participating in fun activities that open up new opportunities and challenges for green citizens in the digital era, said the bank.

The public is invited to come and join in creating value for other people, contributing towards sustainable growth for society, according to KBank.

KBank chief executive Kattiya Indaravijaya said the bank's intention is a commitment to advancing a balanced business.

The bank adopted a strategy of investing in technologies and joining forces with partners to elevate the organisation, while creating a sustainable value for the society, environment and the nation, she said.

KLOUD's green building management system utilises renewable energy, boasting an International Renewable Energy Certificate along with effective energy management, as certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and Fitwel.

Ms Kattiya said KLOUD by KBank is open for all to access three highlighted services, including free access to a co-working space and free booking space.

Bookings can be made for working desks for individuals and groups, personal meeting rooms, study classes or events at an amphitheatre, aiming to cater to diverse needs.

The other service is free WiFi by AIS 5G and Internet of Things technology.
