Sia claims ‘sick puppy’ Shia LaBeouf asked her to marry him and ‘live a sober life’

Sia has said she’ll always love “sick puppy” Shia LaBeouf, despite calling him a “pathological liar” last year.

The singer-songwriter, whose directorial debut Music has drawn controversy, claimed in 2020 that LaBeouf “conned” her into “an adulterous relationship”.

Sia made the comments while supporting the musician FKA twigs, who accused LaBeouf of “relentless abuse.” Last week, lawyers for LaBeouf denied “each and every allegation” made against him by FKA twigs.

Sia and LaBeouf worked together in 2015, with the actor appearing in her video for “Elastic Heart”. She has now elaborated on her relationship with LaBeouf in a new interview with The Sunday Times.

“It turns out he was using the same lines on me and Twigsy, and eventually we found out because we ended up talking to one another,” Sia claimed. “Both of us thought we were singly dating him. But that wasn’t the case. And he was still married.”

She continued: “He said he wanted to marry me and live a sober life ... I feel like I’m always gonna love him because he’s such a sick puppy.”

The Independent has reached out to LaBeouf’s representatives for comment.

Sia recently conceded to criticism of her film Music, an autism-inspired musical which has been condemned by a number of neurodivergent critics.

Maddie Ziegler, Sia’s regular artistic collaborator and the star of Music, told The Independent that she “knew that people were going to love it or hate it”.
