Shyamal & Bhumika’s summer bride

Shyamal & Bhumika Spring-Summer 2022 Couture collection, ‘Summer Dreams’ reflects the year spent by the designers surrounded by nature and tranquility. With floral inspirations, free flowing forms and romantic playful details the collection is a poetic blend of hand-embroidered masterpieces, designed using age-old craft techniques in a mix of silhouettes and colours.

The spring couture collection exudes a fun, fresh and feminine aura yet preserving the precious craftsmanship which is rare & timeless for their global muse. Shyamal & Bhumika’s signature contrasting floral embroidery makes a distinct appearance through the collection.

Exquisite surface ornamentation in lush colours with a touch of sparkle, blossoming florals, fluttering butterflies and tittering waterbirds that dance in the rays of spring, kindle the aesthetic of this line. The duo's deep-rooted reverence for the rich culture and heritage of India and the craftsmanship it boasts of, also shines through this season.

Shyamal & Bhumika have made a connect with the global Indian bride using subtle contrasts of joyous colours, with eye-pleasing vintage mid-tones, jewel tones, muted Indian pastels, rich wine, muted ivory, emerald , aubergine, intense-pink, champagne-gold, deep-blue, english-rose, smokey-grey, dusty-mint and raspberry red interlaced with other delicate tones.

Ensembles overlaid with translucent sequinning and beautiful hand embroideries like aari, zardosi, peeta, hand embroidered shimmer, beadwork, appliqué and handcrafted silk threads embellished with crystals. The lehengas and sarees emanate grace in soft muted tones, tropical florals, textural embroidery finished in silk threads and antique finish gold zari.

The collection includes some exceptional silhouettes, voluminous exaggerated sleeves, floor-sweeping panelled lehengas, dramatic trailing veils and hemlines, bias skirts, sensuous blouses with plunging necklines, open shouldered bodices, fish-tail skirts, ruffled sarees, romantic sleeves, trailing lehengas, high collared blouses, halter necks, pleated bustiers, gorgeous headveils, bustiers and one-shoulder blouses.

The designers have played around with a variety of natural fabrics, ranging from hand woven silks, crepe de chine, tulle, georgettes, raw silks, lustrous satins to lighter dreamier fabrics like sheer tulles.

The collection is shot in a beautiful setting, a dreamy island in the middle of an untouched lake, it’s special, grand, ornate yet light in feel with the joy & dreams of celebrations of the most important day for the bride & the bride-grooms.
