Shuttlers Ashwini-Tanisha climb four spots to world No. 28 in women's doubles world rankings

India's women's doubles badminton pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto has jumped four spots to attain the 28th spot in the most recent BWF rankings.

Despite their relatively short partnership, the 36-year-old Ashwini and her 20-year-old teammate Tanisha displayed remarkable performance by finishing runners-up at the Syed Modi International Super 300 tournament in Lucknow this Sunday.

Their recent successes also include victories at the Nates International Challenge and Abu Dhabi Masters Super 100.

In men's singles, Priyanshu Rajawat, who reached the semi-finals, made significant progress, breaking into the top-30 rankings.

Among other Indian singles players, HS Prannoy retained his position as the highest-ranked at 8th place, with PV Sindhu at 12th, Lakshya Sen at 17th and Kidambi Srikanth at 24th.

The men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued to hold the world number 2 spot, while Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand maintained their 19th position in the women's doubles category.
