India's Shubhankar Sharma finished the Genesis Scottish Open at tied 39th position ahead of his appearance at The Open.

Sharma, who will celebrate his 28th birthday on the concluding day of the 152nd Open, was at 8-under through 17 holes, nearly breaking into the top 10. However, a triple bogey on the 18th resulted in a 5-under 65, leaving him with a total of 8-under 282 for the tournament.

Robert MacIntyre, a local Scotsman, clinched an emotional victory on home soil, securing his maiden Rolex Series title.

MacIntyre's final round of 67 brought his total to 18-under for the week, edging out Adam Scott (67) by a single stroke.

Sahith Theegala, an Indian-American golfer, posted a final round of 69, finishing tied for fourth at 14-under alongside Aaron Rai, defending champion Rory McIlroy (68), overnight leader Ludvig Åberg, South Korea's Sungjae Im (69) and American Collin Morikawa (69).
