Showdown with Celtics lives up to hype as Warriors escape Boston with victory

BOSTON _ The Warriors usually save their most compelling basketball for June. With the Warriors facing a team they might meet in about four months, they offered an entertaining trailer.

The Warriors finished with a 115-111 victory over the Boston Celtics on Saturday, cementing the team's 10th consecutive win and ninth on the road against a team the Warriors believe they could face in the NBA Finals.

The Warriors clinched the game with a pair of Stephen Curry free throws with 6.2 seconds left. Before and after that, the Celtics (30-19) missed their last four shots.

Draymond Green missed what could've been a pair of costly foul shots as the Warriors nursed a 113-111 lead with 8.6 seconds left, but Green grabbed the rebound and tipped the ball to Curry. Before that, Klay Thompson made a pair of foul shots for a 113-111 lead over Celtics with 46.1 seconds left.

The Warriors featured Kevin Durant (33 points), Curry (24), Thompson (21) and DeMarcus Cousins (15) scoring in double figures. And the Warriors were effective at the free-throw line (29 of 34). The Celtics relied on Kyrie Irving (32 points, 10 assists).

The Warriors conclude their five-game trip against Indiana on Monday.
