The plight of a school director who -- as a loan guarantor -- is held responsible for her former students' unpaid debts has captured the attention of the nation.
Wipha Banyen, director of a Kamphaeng Phet-based school, guaranteed study loans under the Student Loan Fund (SLF) for 60 students between 1989-1999.
However, only half the students paid back the debts, and she was left to fork out nearly 1 million baht to make up the shortfall.
