Show could be the Evolution of your EV motoring views

DOES fake news actually exist? Is there such a thing as truth or are we constantly bombarded with opinion and perception? Isn’t the role of a free press to inform and guide but leave you to reach your own conclusions?

I am frankly sick to the back teeth of scare stories and blatantly ill-informed features about electric and low-emission vehicles that have no basis in reality.

All I know is that I put a lot of store in my own experiences. After all, having done something, you are more likely to understand and accept it than just by reading someone else’s opinion.

When we write vehicle reviews in the Road Record, we actually drive the vehicles. We spend time to get to know them, their good points and those things that need considering. We pride ourselves on being thorough.

On Saturday (April 13), Road Record readers can get to be car reviewers at Evolution, the motor show where you get to drive the vehicles.

Zero Motorcycles arrive in Scotland with Edinburgh dealership

With cars and trucks from Toyota, Kia, BMW, MINI, LDV, Jaguar, Renault, Volvo and Nissan at the event in Castle Street, Edinburgh, it is a great opportunity to get yourself into loads of different cars and give them a drive for yourself.

Driving electric is very like driving an automatic, but quieter. You don’t need any special skills or licences. Just bring your driving licence and your DVLA check code (search on www.gov.uk for details) along to the event on Saturday and book yourself some test drives.

You get to drive! Your views and thoughts matter and I’d love to hear what they are. There will be experts on hand to help you get the best advice on different vehicles, charging points and what it’s like to live with an electric vehicle.

The most important thing is that you will discover how fabulous it is to have good, clean fun. To smooth your path and avoid some queues on Saturday, you can pre-register for the event at http://evolutionshow.co.uk/register

The show starts at 9am, so come along and make your own mind up based on the most important opinion there is – yours!
