'Shouty Stop Brexit man' crashes BBC broadcast with EU flag despite five-metre high platform

A Brexit protesters waves his giant EU flag behind the BBC's live broadcast

“Shouty Brexit man” has come up with an "ingenious" way of keeping himself on TV despite broadcasters erecting five-metre high platforms at Westminster.

In recent weeks, campaigner Steve Bray has become notorious for popping up on news broadcasts with his anti-Brexit background shouting. On Monday, networks erected five-metre platforms outside Parliament. But Mr Bray still found a way of making his presence felt.

He used a huge pole to wave an EU flag in the background, which was pictured on a BBC broadcast in College Green on Monday.

He even accused the corporation of censorship, tweeting: “How much have these TV towers cost the BBC? (An anonymous source suggests £10,000). And to what ends?

"If the panorama at Westminster includes anti-Brexit protestors, why wouldn't they include us?

“At what point is this censorship?”

But BBC political journalist Joey D’Urso responded: “Hi Steve, the BBC regularly puts up a podium on College Green for big political moments (like this week).”

Mr D’Urso said a podium was used in March last year, when Article 50 was triggered to leave the EU.

Staunch Remainer Mr Bray has hijacked dozens of political broadcasts and interviews in recent weeks.

Most notably, he attempted to drown out a speech by Jacob Rees-Mogg, in which the ardent Tory Brexiteer announced he had submitted a letter of no confidence in Prime Minister Theresa May.
