‘Shout out to that flight attendant’: American Airlines passenger says man stalked her at Salt Lake City airport. Then he buys a last minute ticket to follow her to Dallas

A woman says she was stalked and harassed while traveling through Salt Lake City International Airport, recounting her experience in a viral TikTok. It has drawn more than 1.3 million views.

Alexandra Kenyon (@takidaddi) shared that her layover in Salt Lake City quickly turned frightening after she noticed a man at her gate who seemed to be watching her.

What happened at the airport?

Kenyon, who had an hour-and-a-half layover, said she was taking a work call when she noticed the man sitting nearby and staring. At first, she brushed it off, thinking she was safe inside an airport.

“I had a false sense of security because I thought, well, he doesn’t have a weapon on him [since] we went through security,” she said.

When she switched to her phone for the call and went to buy a snack, she realized the man was following her. He did not purchase anything at the stand. Later, while boarding, she said he remained “locked in” on her and stood directly behind her in line. She cut ahead between strangers to try to lose him, but he followed.

It gets worse

On the jet bridge, Kenyon said the man stood close and began pushing her slightly. “I think you think in those moments that you’ll stand up for yourself… I did not,” she said.

Once on board, Kenyon said the man shoved her into an overhead bin as she tried to sit down. Disoriented and scared, she texted her mother, who contacted Dallas Fort Worth International Airport police. The man then sat diagonally across from her and began vaping while staring at her.

Kenyon typed out her account in the Notes app on her phone and discreetly showed it to a flight attendant. The attendant immediately moved her to the back of the plane, seated her in a jumpseat, and asked her questions about what had happened.

A last-minute flight purchase

American Airlines staff later determined that the man had purchased a last-minute ticket and selected a seat next to her. Police met the plane at DFW, questioned the man, and escorted him through the airport. They did not arrest him.

Kenyon said one of the flight attendants stayed with her after the incident. The attendant’s mother even drove her to her car to ensure the man was not following her.

“Always say something. Thank you to that American Airlines flight attendant. You seriously changed everything for me,” Kenyon said. “Let this be a lesson that people are scary everywhere.”

Viewers were outraged by the encounter

“The fact that no one said anything when he pushed you into the overhead bin? That’s an act of violence!” one commenter wrote. Another added, “Him buying a last-minute ticket and then sitting in the wrong seat by you… so scary.”
