What is Weapon Prestige in Black Ops 7?

Weapon Prestige in BO7 is basically an extended progression system that becomes available once you max out a weapon’s standard level. When you hit that cap, you can choose to Prestige the weapon, which resets it back to level one, and in return, you unlock new progression tiers and a bunch of rewards.
When you Prestige a weapon, all your builds and blueprints are reset. Any attachments that aren’t permanently unlocked will need to be earned again by leveling the weapon. Don’t worry though, optic attachments and camos you’ve already unlocked remain yours.
In BO7, each weapon has four Weapon Prestige levels, each offering different rewards:
Weapon Prestige 1

- Prestige Attachment (unique to each weapon)
- Weapon Prestige Permanent Unlock token (pick an attachment to unlock permanently)
- Weapon Prestige 1 camo
- Weapon Prestige 1 icon
- Prestige build (automatically created weapon build that includes the Prestige Attachment)
Weapon Prestige 2

- Weapon Prestige Permanent Unlock
- Weapon Prestige 2 camo
- Weapon-specific charm
- Weapon Prestige 2 icon
Weapon Prestige Master

- Weapon Prestige Master icon
- Weapon keeps its current level and now has a max level of 250
- All attachments unlocked through progression become permanently unlocked
- Three Prestige Master camos unlocked sequentially at levels 100, 150, and 200
- XP rewards
Weapon Prestige Max

- Weapon Prestige Max icon
- Unique final camo, which can be animated or a returning fan-favorite from previous Black Ops titles, universal and can be applied to any weapon in any mode
How to Prestige Your Weapon in BO7
Prestiging a weapon in Black Ops 7 is simple. Just follow these steps:
- Max out the weapon level.
- Select the weapon in your loadout, hover over it, and the Prestige option should appear.
- Activate Weapon Prestige by pressing the corresponding button (Triangle or Y on controller, or left-click on PC).
- Hold the button for entering Prestige, and your weapon will reset to level one (except for Weapon Prestige Master and Max) with Prestige rewards unlocked.
If you want to Prestige your weapons fast, especially the meta guns, popping some double weapon XP tokens and grinding during double XP weekends are the best routes.
Is It Worth to Weaon Prestige in BO7?

If you’re a completionist, love grinding camos, or just enjoy showing off your dedication in Black Ops 7, Weapon Prestige is definitely worth it. Also, the Prestige Attachments you unlock can provide you with remarkable stat boosts, giving you a real advantage in combat. Beyond the rewards, there’s a little psychological edge too, as enemies can see your weapon level on the kill cam, which can make you even more intimidating on the battlefield.
On the other hand, if you’re just here to casually use your favorite weapons without chasing long-term progression, there’s definitely no harm in skipping it at all. At the end of the day, Weapon Prestige is a system that has great flexibility. Play at your own pace and commit to Weapon Prestige only when you’re ready.
