Should we still be wearing face masks and are you wearing yours? Have your say

When the day finally arrived where we were allowed to leave the house, this new addition seemed as important as the rest of our daily check items.

Phone, wallet, keys... mask! As we adjusted to life in the shadow of the pandemic, the mask seemed integral to the functioning of normal social tasks.

To some it was menial and to others, it was courteous - the wearing of the mask in indoor spaces and public transport was a silent nod of respect to one another - that even though our patience with the rules may have been running thin, we were in it together.

Perhaps the most significant moniker of Freedom Day's arrival was our abandoning of facemasks. We felt almost naked as we perused the supermarket aisles without them.

Of course, Freedom Day didn't mark an uncompromising end to the pandemic - the virus still exists. For so many, it still remains a source of comfort and protection as they navigate their return to what we consider normative social behaviour.

So as we continue to push through the tunnel and back into the light, we want to know how do you feel about mask-wearing now? Do you still wear one and if so, does it bother you that so many have stopped?

Or do they have no purpose for you anymore? Do you feel comfortable with fully returning to a maskless society?
