Should we have a Christmas lockdown?

Pressure is growing on the Government about bringing in a Christmas lockdown.

At the moment, there are no plans in place but Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he couldn't rule it out.

His statement comes as coronavirus infection rates are on the rise across Manchester, with seven boroughs seeing the numbers increase.

Tameside now has the highest rate with 398 cases per 100,000 people.

The lowest infection rate across the conurbation is in Oldham, where there were 258 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending November 12.

In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 334.5 cases, which is lower than the national average of 375.2 cases per 100,000 people.
