Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it's up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in Saturday's paper.
This week's question
We have set aside £10 a month for wild bird food and love watching them feeding in the garden. However, squirrels now come and eat the bird seed resulting in us having to spend more on the food. But should we be feeding the squirrels at all? Do they need as much help with food as birds? And do "squirrel-proof" feeders really work?
