Should we ban the sale of fireworks to the public?

Bonfire Night is just a couple of weeks away, and fireworks are now on sale. That means one thing - two weeks of explosions and noise through the night as over-excited teenagers set off rockets and bangers.

At the moment, the law states that people can only buy fireworks from registered sellers for private use on the following dates: October 15 to November 10; Boxing Day to New Year's Eve; and the three days before Diwali and Chinese New Year. And fireworks are banned from being ignited between 11pm and 7am.
