Should Tier 3 lockdown be imposed on Greater Manchester? Let us know your thoughts here

Boris Johnson revealed that a decision on whether Greater Manchester will be put under a Tier 3 lockdown has not yet been made.

At today's government briefing, the prime minister urged local leaders to work with the government to implement new measures amid rising infection rates in the region.

It follows days of intense talks between Greater Manchester politicians and government ministers, with Mr Johnson warning today that "time is of the essence".

Mayor Andy Burnham has been calling for further financial support to be put in place for businesses that would be forced to close, and affected workers, under a new lockdown.

Along with several other local leaders, the mayor put out a statement this evening saying he was "ready to meet at any time".

Mr Johnson has warned that the government will impose measures on the region if an agreement can't be met.

Liverpool and Lancashire are the only two regions that have been put under a Tier 3 lockdown so far.

It means that household mixing is banned indoors and in private gardens and outdoor hospitality venues.

Pubs and bars are also forced to close under the strictest set of restrictions, along with other businesses depending on the region.

Do you think a Tier 3 lockdown should be imposed on Greater Manchester?
