Should the Raiders consider signing free agent DT Ndamukong Suh?

The Oakland Raiders have proven they aren’t afraid to take chances on talented players via trade or free agency. This offseason alone, the team traded for Antonio Brown and signed Vontaze Burfict, who can both be a tad much, at times. With that in mind, could the Raiders be interested in adding Ndamukong Suh to their defensive line?

Suh’s production has dropped some as of late, but he is still one of the best defensive tackles in all of football. In the playoffs, he was nothing short of a game-wrecker, destroying the Cowboys and the Saints. He finished the season with a grade of 80.2 and 21 run stops, according to Pro Football Focus.

Outside of Maurice Hurst, the Raiders don’t have another defensive tackle on the roster that excels at rushing the passer. And with Hurst’s heart condition, it’s never a bad idea for Oakland to add more talent to the position.

Oakland could even find ways to get both Hurst and Suh on the field at the same time, which could prove to be troublesome for offenses in the NFL. If the Raiders were able to land Suh, he could dramatically upgrade their defense in 2019. For a team that wants to compete right away, this signing would make some sense.
