Should the Raiders be interested in acquiring disgruntled CB Jalen Ramsey?

Earlier this offseason, All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey made some comments that seemed to raise some eyebrows across the NFL. On a podcast with Titans’ offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, Ramsey mentioned the Raiders as a team he would like to play for in the near future.

At the time of the comments, there was no indication that he was planning on leaving the Jaguars anytime soon. But after two straight losses to open up the 2019 season, Ramsey could be on his way out of Jacksonville. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ramsey has requested a trade from the Jaguars.

Knowing the Ramsey had previously mentioned his interest in the Raiders, could Oakland consider making a move for the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback? Gareon Conley is a star in the making, but the second cornerback spot has given Oakland some problems.

With Oakland having two first-round picks in the 2020 draft, should they consider moving one of those picks for a 24-year old star defensive back? According to Schefter, the Jaguars are currently searching for a first-round pick in exchange for Ramsey,

Adding a player like Ramsey to the secondary would help the entire unit get to an elite level. Knowing how aggressive Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden have been in trades over the last year, expect Oakland to have at least some interest in Ramsey.
