Should the Cincinnati Bengals consider signing C.J. Mosley?

Should the Cincinnati Bengals pursue Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley?

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bengals’ inner-division rival won’t use the franchise tag on the star linebacker, possibly opening up a pathway for him to leave.

Although Mosley is three shy of 600 combined tackles for his career, the most impressive stat he brings to the table is he’s missed just three games over the past five seasons, less than Vontaze Burfict has missed due to suspension alone.

The Bengals, under new leadership, might want to rid themselves of the trouble surrounding Burfict. Tack on the fact Burfict is injury prone and it’s clear the Bengals may want to start fresh with a stud linebacker.

Mosley, who is considered one of the best linebackers in the AFC North, will turn 27 in just a few months, so the size of the contract he’ll desire will also factor into his value.

At the end of the day, the Bengals defense gave up the most yards per game last year. They need help on that end of the field, and with their secondary not being the problem, they must look inside.

Mosley won’t solve all their problems, but he’s certainly a good start.
