Should Texas A&M C Erik McCoy be a draft target for the Texans?

Former Texas A&M Aggies center Erik McCoy made an impression at the NFL combine in Indianapolis Friday with an outstanding 40-time for an offensive lineman.

The 6-4, 315-pound McCoy dashed 40 yards in less than 4.90 seconds, the fastest 40-time thus far on Friday at the combine.

While the Texans have a considerable veteran presence along the interior with guards Zach Fulton, Senio Kelemete, and Greg Mancz, it would behoove the Texans to find younger talent to play these veterans off the roster and get younger along the offensive line. McCoy, while a center, knows that he will be tasked to play a guard spot if a team asks him.

McCoy would be a top-100 pick. If the Texans decide to use their first-round pick to fix the secondary first, then McCoy would be a nice pick in the second or third round to finally start upgrading the offensive line.
