Should Steelers QB Mason Rudolph play on Sunday?

I’m sure everyone reading this watched last week’s game and saw the vicious hit quarterback Mason Rudolph took. The hit knocked him unconscious and put him in the concussion protocol. But we saw him return to practice on Wednesday on a limited basis despite still being in the concussion protocol. He could be removed from the protocol as early as today.

The Steelers are preparing to take on the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend before heading into the bye week. Which makes you wonder: Given the direction this season is going, should Pittsburgh let Rudolph sit this week even if he clears concussion protocol to be sure he’s 100 percent for the second half of the season?

Concussions are nothing to mess with. If I am the Steelers, I don’t push Rudolph out onto the field in this game. Let Devlin Hodges start in his place, get through this week, and bring Rudolph back for the October 28 game against the Miami Dolphins.
